Photography First For Turner
Turner Contemporary’s first-ever photography exhibition, Seaside: Photographed (25th May-8th September), examines the relationship between photographers, photography and the British seaside from the 1850s to the present day.
The wide range of subjects includes the anarchy of the 1970 Isle of White Festival, the 1990 rave scene in Brighton, wild waves and holiday camps, and a raucous women’s day out in the 1950s.
In response to Seaside: Photographed, artists Bethan Peters and Stacie Lee Bennet-Worth will deliver workshops to families with Thanet Early Years Project, with the aim of creating a new artwork inspired by local residents.
