Sevenoaks Youth Cafe Continues To Receive Support

Sevenoaks Round Table have confirmed that they will be providing a financial grant to support the House in the Basement Youth Cafe (situated in the basement of the Stag) of £2,622 to enable new carpet and flooring to be provided and £400 for purchasing the equipment for the new chess club, which started recently.

In addition, Kent County Council (KCC) Councillor Margarete Crabtree has provided a grant for the Tuesday Club to continue. This Club provides somewhere safe and comfortable for youngsters to go and provides confidence in the venue to attend at other times and integrate with other young people, which has proved immensely popular.

The House in the Basement Youth Cafe has been open for approximately six years and is free to attend. It has a pool table, computers with wi-fi, computer games, board games, a chill out area and refreshments. Once a month it has an open mic night, which is kindly supported by Wagamama in the town, who provide free refreshments.
