Journey through the human body

Body Worlds London is now a permanent fixture at the London Pavilion in Piccadilly Circus and is open 365 days of the year.

The exhibition, which has been seen by more than 47 million people in over 130 cities worldwide, takes visitors on a journey around the human body, and features real bodies and body parts donated to be preserved by creator Dr Gunther von Hagens’ patented ‘plastination’ technique.

Over 200 exhibits and displays explore the ageing process, diet and cholesterol, the beating heart and cardiovascular systems, and pregnancy and reproduction, in more detail than has ever been previously possible while 25 full body plastinates display a range of movements and activities to show exactly how the muscles work in different ways.

Healthy and diseased organs are shown side by side, allowing visitors to see how lifestyle choices affect the body.
