Salomons Estate: Relaxed Dining In Style

While my previous visits to Salomons had been for more formal occasions held in the main dining rooms, my recent trip was a more relaxed affair in the pub and dining rooms at Salomons Estate.

With tables and chairs set up in the bar area, the conservatory and the dining room you have a choice of surroundings to pick from in this characterful and elegant venue enjoying a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Having looked over the dishes on the seasonally changing menu, both my partner and I decided to try the chicken and sweetcorn soup with warm roll to start. The delicious clear soup had generous portions of tender chicken and corn kernels, highlighting the chefs’ use of the finest and freshest ingredients.

For the main course my partner went for Salomons locally-sourced burger which came in a pretzel burger bun with bacon jam, Monterey Jack cheese and gherkin (to which he added streaky bacon) and with sweet potato fries on the side. I opted for the wild mushroom tagliatelle, which was finished with black truffle oil, chargrilled chicory and creamy tarragon sauce – and not to be left out I added chicken too. Both of us were left pleasantly full from two delicious mains.

For dessert there was then the choice of fresh fruit salad or coconut and pineapple upside down cake with cream or ice cream.

The prices are very reasonable, especially given the quality of the dishes, so whether you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a mid-week dinner, a spot of lunch, a Sunday Roast or an afternoon tea, the pub and dining rooms offer the perfect opportunity to get together with friends and family and enjoy some delectable food in a friendly environment.
