Canterbury Bike Ride 2019

The team from Iconic Cycling events were delighted to welcome nearly 400 riders to this year’s Canterbury Bike Ride championed by Redrow Homes, held at Canterbury Rugby Club and supporting Canterbury Hellfire wheelchair rugby.

Riders of all ages completed routes of 25, 50 and 80 miles heading south out of Canterbury to the south coast and spectacular Elham Valley before the intrepid 80 milers headed north to Sandwich and beyond before returning to the rugby club. Well-stocked feed stations at Saga HQ, Bike Tart and Baypoint kept riders going with the pasties, local cheese and delicious sandwiches being really well received by the riders.

This year a large number of teams joined from the Canterbury BID with particularly large teams from Barretts and Burgess Hodgson. The sun greeted returning riders to the rugby club where they were able to enjoy a cold beer courtesy of Shepherd Neame and reflect on a great day of cycling. A big thank you to our partner Redrow Homes as well as a raft of local supporters including Lenleys, Barretts, Shepherd Neame, Leydon Lettings, Clague Architects, Bike Tart, Baypoint, Wheeleaze, Canterbury BID, 360 MMS, Canterbury Rugby Club, Ashfield Farm, Warren's Bakery and The Canterbury INDEX Magazine.
