Cricketer Tammy Beaumont opens junior’s season

England and Kent women’s star bat, Tammy Beaumont MBE opened the season at Sissinghurst Cricket Club with a junior coaching session.

Tammy is sponsored by wealth management firm JM Finn who arranged for her to deliver a masterclass on the opening Sunday of the season and to put the club’s youngsters through some coaching drills. JM Finn are Sissinghurst’s current shirt sponsors and helped contribute to the new electronic scoreboard last season.

Dover-born Tammy, 28, is a prolific opening bat and wicket-keeper who plays for Kent, Surrey Stars and England women’s teams. Tammy recently celebrated going past 1,000 runs in women’s T20 internationals in the victory over Sri Lanka as well as being named as one of Wisden’s five cricketers of the year.

With 94 junior players attending, Paul Dyas, JM Finn investment director and Sissinghurst club member, commented: “We were delighted to see so many juniors, both boys and girls, attend these sessions and we are very grateful to Tammy for coming to help us support these grass roots initiatives – she is a genuine inspiration to all cricketers.”
