Kent’s 5th Classic Car Tour

More than 50 classics celebrated Kent’s fifth annual Classic Car Tour.

The fifth annual Classic Car Tour of Kent, organised by Tonbridge Lions Club and held on a sweltering July Sunday, got underway at Tonbridge Castle as the Deputy Mayor of Tonbridge & Malling, Councillor Jill Anderson, set the 53 entrants on their way.

The cars travelled through the varied and picturesque countryside, stopping off for lunch at Barnsgate Manor near Uckfield, and then after lunch returning by a different route to Tonbridge Castle, where they were greeted by Lions President Tom Simmons and his wife Vanessa. The drivers and passengers then enjoyed a cream tea in the castle grounds.

The cars were a varied cross section of classics spanning more than 80 years, among the oldest being a 1934 MG PA, a 1934 MG PA Midget and a 1935 Lagonda M35R.
